The Camp

A Russell Lake Fishing Tradition Since 1970

Over 50 years of guiding anglers through the abundant waters of Russell Lake and the surrounding Wheeler River area.

Plaisted Camps is a remote Canadian wilderness fishing destination located on Russell Lake in northern Saskatchewan.

Founded in 1970 from Ralph Plaisted's dream of finding a place far away from the busy city, the camp has grown into a long-standing fly-in fishing tradition known for pristine waters, authentic log cabins, and unforgettable days on the lake.

With over 50 years of guiding anglers through the abundant waters of Russell Lake and the surrounding Wheeler River area, Plaisted Camps offers access to trophy Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Walleye, and Arctic Grayling. Guests come for the fishing, but return for the hospitality, rustic comfort, and the feeling of becoming part of the Plaisted Camps family.

What the Camp Stands For

Three Things We Do Not Compromise

Authentic Wilderness Adventure

A camp reached by float plane, on water that stays quiet because almost nobody else can get to it.

Conservation-Minded Experiences

Fishing Russell Lake the way it has been fished for five decades, so it still fishes that way in another five.

Comfortable Accommodations

Log cabins, a lodge, a dining room and modern showers, so the only rough part of the day is the weather.

Ownership

Who You'll Be Dealing With

Plaisted Camps is owned and operated by the Brelje Family, Dan and Morgan. Reach the camp directly by phone or email and you will be talking to the people who run it.
